Website Back Up!!
Jason spilled beer on the server again. Well, not really, he just depends SO much on poor Tony to take care of him.
Did you miss us? You should thank Tony, the most awesomest ex-drummer (well, he is still a drummer, but not OUR drummer) in the universe for fixing the site in between surfing and drinking mai tai's. Without him you would be looking at a Yahoo! placeholder page, and missing out on the most excellent Buffalo Jones news! That would suck. All Hail King Tony! It's good to be back! Carry on... Toys For Tots, the 90's revisited and more!
Hello all-
It's been a while since we last talked. Our regrets for not keeping in better touch. We've been very busy and have a lot of exciting things on the horizon that we hope you will come be a part of. Ok not all of it, but most of it was fantastic and has played a huge part in the development of the Buffalo Jones sound. We are excited to announce that we will be playing a set of all our favorite hits from the decade at the Blvd on Friday, January 1st! Now we know some of you will be tired from ringing in the new year the previous night, but drag yourself out if you have to, because you don't want to miss this show. Oh, and as an added incentive, we need you help with the set list! We will perform the top 5 requested songs. That's right we promise to play whatever 5 songs you guys request the most. So let us know what you want to hear. You can tell us anyway you want to (email, myspace, facebook, whatever). Just make sure to get your requests in by Christmas day. You can request any (and we do mean any!) song from the decade. We will play the top 5 no matter what they are. So hit us up please! Check the calendar for directions and more info. Introducing Lennon Von Weller.....and a last minute acoustic show
If you have been out to one of our shows in the last week or two, you might have noticed something different near the back of the stage. We would like to officially announce the addition of our new drummer, Lennon Von Weller. Lennon has been working his ass off to get up to speed the last month or so and has played 3 excellent shows so far. He aslo has the largest drum kit I have ever seen (get your mind out of the gutter!). We are excited to have Lennon join the Buffalo. So come out to a show and say hello to the newest member of Buffalo Jones.
Speaking of shows, we are playing and acoustic set this Friday at Calypsos in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Should be a fun time. Show starst at 7pm. I think the cover is $3. More information is available on the Calendar. So if you are in the area come by and hang out with us for a bit. Hope to see you there. That is all Acoustic show in Chelan and the debut of our new drummer
Hello all-
Jason will be playing another acoustic show at the Vogue Lounge in Chelan, Washington on Saturday, August 8th. This will also mark the debut of Buffalo Jones' new drummer, Lennon Von Weller! The Vogue is an awesome little venue and is always a lot of fun. Show starts at 8pm. Hope to see you there. It will be an entertaining night. -Buffalo Jones THIS Sunday, April 19th, Buffalo Jones and Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers @ Knitting Factory!
So, it looks like the sun and spring has finally arrived in Spokane. After the worst winter on record. What better way to shake off the depression of being stuck in the cold for several months than spending a few hours basking in the warmth of two bands playing good ol' rock and roll with a definite Southwestern influence! In case you didn't know, it's warm in the Southwest! And the Kings of Arizona, Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers, bring that warmth to the stage everytime they play. And even though the mightly Buffalo Jones is a Spokane based band, they are heavily influenced by that Southwestern sound and bring their own brand of sunshine to the stage.
So grab a friend or two, come on down to The Knitting Factory, and prepare to have a good time. Let's fill the place with good vibes, love and peace. It will be a good time! Prepare yourself to walk out of The Knit feeling warmer, with a smile on your face and a little bit better for having spent some time with your fellow man (and woman!), enjoying some high quality rock and roll, with a tequilia twist! Tickets are only $14 and are available at TicketsWest and at the door. See ya there! Buffalo Jones - The Drink? Hell YA!
Thanks to a friend of the band on the west side of the state, we have a drink named after us!
The Buffalo Jones! Go to the site, comment on the recipe and show your love for The Buffalo. Good times, indeed! Thaw! Shows!
The winter is just about half over. The Buffalo are enjoying the thaw... it actually was 36 degrees today!
And what does a thawed out Buffalo do with it's time? Well, it schedules shows, that is what it does. And if you check the calendar, you will see a list of both Jason Johnson solo shows as well as full on Buffalo Jones shows. And if you look really closely, you will see the coup de grace. April 19th at The Knitting Factory. With You Know Who. Oh boy. Oh boy. Hope you all are still with us. It's been a cold couple of months. But new songs were written and the band is gearing up for an incredible 2009. That is all. Happy Holidays!
We here at Buffalo Jones would like to wish everyone the happiest and safest of holidays!
In the past seven days, the Buffalo has been suffocated with three feet of snow, with 8 more inches forecast for today and another foot possible on Satuday. It is insane. Be safe out there! Take care, everyone. Remember, love really is the answer. Be good to each other. See you in 2009! That is all. Update!
It's been kind of quiet out in Buffaloville. Getting a show in this town can be difficult, seeing as there are only about two or three clubs to play and the music of choice around here is either classic rock or screamo metal. Not that there is anything wrong with those genres, but the Buffalo don't swing either way.
While we wait for an opening in a schedule, Jason and Tony have been working on new material. We have built ourselves a cool little recording studio, built around Logic Pro, and have started laying down tracks. The songs are yummy! It feels good to be working and if you thought the last batch of recordings were good, we firmly believe that the new stuff is even better. Much thanks to Joe Varela for pointing us in the right direction in our gear purchases. Everthing is smooth like butter. We (well, Tony, as he writes most of the updates) have been sitting on a review of our last show, the evening with Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers and we apologize for not writing about that considering it was the peak of our musical career thus far. It was a great night, we had fun and RCPM put on another incredible show. There will be a more in depth synopsis of that evening coming soon. So, that's what the Buffalo have been up to. Glenn has been playing his new XBOX 360 and working on his own material, Brandon is playing with Plastic Saints and upgrading his guitar arsenal (and has started a new blog based on his guitar obsession... check it out) and as stated above Jason and Tony are working on new stuff. We hope to get a show soon and when we do, you will know about it. And as soon as we feel comfortable with some of the new mixes, we will post them here for feedback. We hope everyone is well and having a happy, peaceful holiday season. That is all. Tomorrow Night 11/16/2008!!!It's the Night Before Christmas
In November and in Spokane You can feel the anticipation Of all the Buffalo Jones fans! That's right, tomorrow night we celebrate the holiday with a night of incredible music! Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers are coming back to Spokane and the mighty Buffalo are opening the show. Everyone gets a present. There will be no lumps of coal or spoiled eggnog on this fine day! Come on down to The Knitting Factory (previously The Big Easy, if you have been asleep for a long while) and share in the joy of music. Soak in all the warm, positive vibrations on a cold fall night. Music starts at 8pm, with the Buffalo playing about 40 minutes or so followed by RCPM who never fail to tear the house down. In a good way, of course. This will be the best night of music Spokane has seen in a very long time. Tickets are $14 at the door, or if you want to purchase in advance, they are available at all TicketsWest outlets. Print out this email, bring it to our merch table and take home a free cd! See, even MORE gifts! And no guilt! WOW! We hope to see you all there. And for those of you who are not local, and wish you could see us with RCPM live, go to the Peacemakers site and contact their management and ask (nicely, now!) to see Buffalo Jones out on the road with RCPM. Thanks for your continued support and see you soon! |
